I've seen these smaller versions to clean fishtanks and I have one for that purpose, so I though, why wouldn't it work just as well on windows. Well, it does. The trick is to make sure the pads are both soaking wet with a non-streaking window cleaner like Windex because although you are using the friction caused by the pull of the magnets, you can't really rinse the windows, so the cleanser you use shouldn't need to be rinsed all that thoroughly but will still leave a streakless finish. In short the device works very well when you can't get to the outside to towel dry or to remove the windows completely. The one caution -- make sure that string that is attached to the outside half is securely held in place. There is always the possibility that the magnet can let got when you make a turn or one of the halves hits an obstruction of the frame -- you don't want that outside half to fall. The safety cord will save you in such an eventuality. All in all, I give it 4 out of 5 for
