very handy
I bought one to see how I liked it and am buying more now. I live in an apartment with old appliances and grids that are too big for my gas top -- so nothing cooks evenly if I want to have more than two things cooking at the same time -- the burner plate I bought has helped to cook things evenly without burning while other items that needed more attention were cooked.
Burner plates
I find these plates exactly what I was looking for. They provide very even heating and protect burner wells from spillovers. I wish the burners were slightly larger diameter to cover the gas burners entirely but this is nitpicking. I'm happy to have them.

I ordered one and liked it so much I ordered two more. Very handy when simmering - keeps pots from getting too hot.

I bought these because I'm doing a small renovation in my kitchen, and really didn't want to spend a fortune on new appliances. One improvement I made was adding these burner plates! Got rid of the look of the old coil burners with sleek black smooth plates that once heated, disperse heat evenly and more effectively, so much so that the heat level needs to be reduced, so they even save you some electrical pocket change!
